KDHO: 151 new COVID-19 cases Thursday

LIHU‘E — The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office announced 151 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday

This brings the number of active, recorded cases to 595, with 13 hospitalized. According to the Hawai‘i Emergency Management Agency, two are in the intensive care unit.

At the Kaua‘i Community Correctional Center, there are curerntly 45 active COVID-19 cases among inmates. Five of those were reported Thursday. All 45 are in medical isolation.

To date, the county has recorded 10,753 cumulative cases.

A free testing site at Kaua‘i War Memorial Conventional Hall in Lihu‘e is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

A testing van will be operating at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until a maximum of 100 test tickets are distributed.

A community vaccine clinic is at Isenberg Park in Lihu‘e on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. Walk-ins are welcome.
