Marcello Pedronan Sr.
Marcello Pedronan Sr., 94, of Hanama‘ulu, passed away Jan. 12, 2022, at Wilcox Medical Center. He was born in Lihu‘e on Dec. 31, 1927, and retired from Lihu‘e Plantation Co. as a truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a wounded combat Korean War veteran.
He was preceded in death by parents Gregorio and Luisa Pedronan and brothers Elpidio and Nicomedes Pedronan.
He is survived by wife Adele Pedronan, son Marcello (Lani) Pedronan Jr., daughter Nancy (Michael) Wong, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, sisters Nieves (Thomas) Soriano, Helen Pedronan and Susan Andrade, brother Flor (Rose) Pedronan, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life is Saturday, Feb. 5, at Immaculate Conception Church, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe at 1 p.m. Masks and social distancing will be observed.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Roseline Roselani Gonsalves Victorino
Roseline Roselani Gonsalves Victorino, 80, of Kekaha, passed away at home on Jan. 11, 2022. She was born on Jan. 27, 1941.
She was preceded in death by husband David William Victorino Sr., father Joseph Gonsalves Perreira, mother Adeline Lopes Perreira, brothers Joseph Gonsalves and Wayne “Rocky” Perreira and sister Brenda Moniz.
She is survived by children David William (Donna Jo) Victorino Jr. of Wailua, Roselani Marie (Bernie) Wise of Lihu‘e, Yvette Marie Victorino of Mississippi, Rhonda Waynette (Domingo “Don”) Victorino-Lutao of Kalaheo, Harry Joseph (Laurie) Victorino of Kapa‘a, hanai daughter Cherie Miyashiro of Lihu‘e, brothers Richard Gonsalves of Nevada and Godfrey Perreira of Hanama‘ulu, sister Adeline “Angie” Souza, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaugter.
A celebration of life is at the Lihue Neighborhood Center and Isenberg Park on Saturday, Feb. 5, with visitation at 10:30 a.m., and program at 11 a.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn at all times.
Rickey Maurice Carvalho
Rickey Maurice Carvalho, 58, of Anahola, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on Jan. 13, 2022. He was born on Kaua‘i on May 7, 1963, and was a maintenance worker at various hotels.
He was preceded in death by father Ernest Carvalho III., daughter Cherise Carvalho, brother Ernest S. Carvalho Jr. and sister Audrey Barretto.
He is survived by mother Alice Carvalho, wife Anna Carvalho, daughters Cherelle Carvalho, Tori Ann (Jason) Miyazaki, Tiffany (Blair) Yamashita and Tiana Laranio, son Timothy Laranio, numerous grandchildren, brothers Steven (Lizann), Alan (Momi) and Philbert (Desiree), sister Valerie (Joe) Contrades, and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Judith Matsumoto
Judith Matsumoto passed away on Jan. 20, 2022, at the age of 80, in ‘Ele‘ele. She was born on Nov. 13, 1941 on Kaua‘i, and was a seamstress.
She was preceded in death by parents Teruto and Betsey Matsumoto.
She is survived by brothers Melvin (Tuanta) Matsumoto of ‘Ele‘ele and Steven (Karen) Matsumoto of Kalaheo, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
