Peter Kautz, one of the AmeriCorps crew (are we doing anything for Martin Luther King Day?) was celebrating his final day before flying home this weekend
Congratulations, Seth Womble, Sandy Poenhelt (Seth said she’s a real good boss) of The Right Slice, and the mentors of the Nirmana Project, on the final day (they’re coming back to do more shading later) of the Mo’ Please mural that graces the west wall of the pie shop.
And, what is Korean bing su?
Harry Shigekane (he was waiting on his to-go lunch at the Kaua‘i Coconuts food truck) said he’s started doing the Korean bing su, or the Korean version of shave ice, as dessert at Daddy O’s in the Rice Shopping Center in Lihu‘e. That’s where Rob Silverman was busy so Tiana Pegeder represented Rob’s Good Times Grill in presenting the proceeds of Rob’s Gives Back dining specials to Alice Luck of The Resilience Project.
Newly-appointed Kaua‘i Board of Realtors Executive Nani Sadora (happy retirement, Karen Ono!) also did the honors in presenting the Virtual Food Box Drive collection to Kelvin Moniz of the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank.
