Dora Ohama Sato
Dora Ohama Sato passed away on Dec. 29, 2021, at the age of 90, in Lihu‘e.
She was born on Dec. 14, 1931 in Lihu‘e. She was a librarian and the Bookmobile lady.
She was preceded in death by father Nobuto Ohama, mother Chiyoko Nii Ohama, brothers Albert Y. Ohama, George S. Ohama and Harry M. Ohama, and sisters Irene F. Yata and Hilda M. Ohama.
She is survived by son Dana K. Sato of Hilo, daughter Sara J. Sato of Honolulu, brother Stanley Ohama of Honolulu, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Loretta Carol Geis
Loretta Carol Geis of Wailua Homesteads passed away on Dec. 22, 2021, at the age of 77. She was born on June 13, 1944, in Lihu‘e, and she was a retired manager-liaison with Kaua‘i United Way.
She was preceded in death by William and Cecilia Farias.
She is survived by husband Clifford Geis Jr., sons Timothy (Darcy) Geis and William Geis, brothers William (Eileen) Farias and Robert (Bronwyn) Farias, and six grandchildren.
Services will be private.

Austin S. Daynes
Austin S. Daynes, 34, of Kapa‘a, passed away at home on Jan. 1, 2022. He was born in Burbank, California on March 26, 1987, and worked in construction and landscaping.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Kent Daynes and Jerry and Betty Wilson.
He is survived by mother Kelly Wilson, father Allan Daynes, stepfather David Weltman, and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
Private services will be held at a later date.

Carlina Fabunan Alcones
Carlina Fabunan Alcones, 79, of Lihu‘e, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on Jan. 2, 2022. She was born in San Antonio, Zambales, Philippines, and was a dedicated homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband Antonio Alcones, sons Gregorio Alcones and Leonardo Castro Alcones, daughter Mary Luz Alcones, grandson Reymar Alcones, parents Francisca and Andres Fabunan, brothers Andres Fabunan, Clemencio Fabunan and Santos Fabunan, and sisters Dolores Lazaro and Felicidad Lontoc.
She is survived by children Annabelle Alcones, Bernard Alcones, Reynaldo (Rosalie) Alcones, Remedios Sonnenberg, Analin (Arman) Antivo, Darius (Grace) Alcones, Daves Alcones, Isabel (Ramon) Alcones and Merry Jane (Jonathan) Alcones, brother Victoriano Fabunan, 21 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life is Thursday, Jan. 13, at St. Catherine Church in Kapa‘a, with visitation from 8:30 a.m. with Mass at 10 a.m.
