Laurie Ho said she’s hoping the produce is strong enough to withstand mold that always appears to infect produce following heavy rain (no, we had wind, too, so it should be OK).
Risa Clemmons, Wirat Farms and even Dang’s Farm brought out tomatoes that were nonexistent during last week’s outing following Christmas, and Laurie wanted to know if anyone smelled the durian or jackfruit?
Kenny Ishii also made a rare appearance (gotta go, need to pay Risa for the tomatoes). And mahalo for the rambutan (Laurie said Risa were stacking ‘em like how they do in Thailand). Kenny said he’s moving his family to Florida for better opportunity. He even bought a condo and has it rented out until the ‘ohana gets there. Let’s see, a local tropical franchise in a market that is gigantic when compared to Hawai‘i? Good luck!
The rain may have eased up, but there was water (it’s called condensation) on the Bernice Hundley Gym floor so the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation girls basketball game was called off due to safety concerns.
Dr. Monty Downs said there was water on the floor of Farrington High School gym following last week’s Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association Division II football championship game, but it didn’t matter since the state champion Kapa‘a High football team just played basketball most of the night.
