Kaua‘i’s bevy of royalty, from left Kayli Obrero, Kailea Gregg, Colbie Cortez, Hi‘ilei Berg (yes, she’s Kamalei’s sister), Sophia Gregg (sister of Kailea?), Kaliah Kaneakua and Megan Souza are out at the Grove Farm Market in Puhi asking for help for Toys For Tots. Are they going to be there Saturday for the big quarterly event, too?

Artist Stephen Lucas creates on-the-spot note cards as a fundraiser for the Kaua‘i Society of Artists Saturday during the Small Business Saturday open house (yes, they were socially distanced) for the Small Works/Big Show exhibit at Kukui Grove Center gallery in Lihu‘e. And, yes, artists are small businesspeople, too.

Today is Monday, so Sarah Tochiki and the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School Band (still time to vote for the CKMS Pueo Ice at the American Savings Bank KeikiCo competition!) will be gracing the Pau Hana Market (Kaua‘i Churros make good post-turkey and partying grinds) at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e.

Laurie Ho (she even patronized the Grove Farm Market for Small Business Saturday giveaways!) said the Pau Hana Market will be announcing details of a recipe contest today!
Shawn Shimabukuro said the Grove Farm Market has more vendors (did anyone know that coach Todd Ozaki does woodworking?) signed up for Saturday’s big quarterly event, where more than 40 vendors will join the market lineup starting at 9:30 a.m. in Puhi (Shawn said they even arranged for overflow parking at Kaua‘i Community College).
Mrs. Claus (Santa’s House opened Friday!) was having her hands full chasing the Gingerbread Person around Small Business Saturday at KGC (people like the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau and Deja Vu Surf Hawai‘i have been advocates of the event for a long time in its 10-year history after being launched by American Express).
Kudos to KGC for flexing its muscles to bring in the Kaua‘i Made program (Ikaika Ho of the Flirty Hippie said he’s started working with pearls, and will be at the National Tropical Botanical Garden’s big Aloha Market for Thursday at the South Shore Visitor Center!), where they’re saving the big shopping bags for the Holly Jolly event coming up Dec. 11 at the Sheraton Kaua‘i at Coconut Beach in Waipouli (mahalo for all those Thanksgiving meals going out to our first responders!).
OK, Ms. Sarah, “Let It Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!”
