PUHI — The Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School Pueo Shave Ice company is in the finals of a contest to potentially earn $5,000 for the school in the 2021 KeikiCo Contest presented by American Savings Bank.
Tyler Gage, the CKMS career and technical education business and personal finance teacher and after-school program coordinator, said the Pueo Shave Ice needs the People’s Choice Award voting that needs to be done by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1.
In the middle-school division, the group is up against four other programs, including three from Highlands Intermediate School, in the KeikiCo People’s Choice Voting. CKMS is the only school on Kaua‘i to make any the finals in any of the divisions, including elementary and high school.

The KeikiCo Contest is a business-plan competition where students are able to showcase their best ideas to win $5,000 to $25,000 for their schools. Voting for the KeikiCo 2021 Contest is live and presented by American Savings Bank.
