LIHU‘E — Tuesday, the state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported 13 new cases of COVID-19.
All of Tuesday cases are residents, three children and 10 adults.
One of the cases is related to mainland travel, the remaining 12 are considered community-acquired.
Seven of the community-acquired infections are close contacts of a previously announced case or are tied to an active cluster. The remaining five cases have no known source of infection.
The county currently has 105 active cases, with 11 hospitalized. According to the Hawai‘i Emergency Management Agency, two are in the intensive-care unit.
To date, the county has recorded 3,089 cumulative cases.
Free COVID-19 testing is available at the War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihu‘e on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, the convention hall will not have testing on Thursday and Friday. It will reopen Monday, Nov. 29.
Mobile testing is available today at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center, the Hanalei Neighborhood Center on Saturday and at the Kapa‘a Neighborhood Center on Sunday, all from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
