Kudos, too, to The Salvation Army’s Capt. Shawn Keoho, for taking care of the hot-meal check-in table with Michaila Duncil while Aviana Cabab did the mobile duties to get the volunteers fed.
Grace Meek of Project Vision Hawai‘i came to help Darnell Sugioka Costales (she couldn’t do the Saturday Ho‘ola Lahui Hawai‘i vaccine clinic because the Hi‘ehi‘e mobile shower was at the ‘Ohana Christian Fellowship event at the Waipouli Town Center) and Allen Huber with vision screening in addition to the Hi‘ehi‘e mobile showers.
Kudos to Pastor Darryl and Elizabeth Kua of the Westside Christian Center Assembly of God for coordinating to put together that Thanksgiving food distribution out in Kekaha, and mahalo to that North Shore group of ‘ohana for providing meals for 150 families of Boys &Girls Club of Hawai‘i members from all three of the Kaua‘i sites.
Capt. Shawn is not done yet, because Wednesday is the annual community luncheon (drive-by and walk-up pickup only) at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihu‘e.
There is still the ongoing Toys For Tots campaign, where people can drop off their new, unused toys at any of the Kaua‘i fire stations, or on Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center with Capt. Rod Green of the U.S. Marine Corps League.
