Patti Ornellas of the Kaua‘i Visitors Bureau, Donna Lynn Loo of the Kaua‘i RSVP, and Joyce Peralta (she’s connected with Grace Peralta of the Boys & Girls Club) get ready to load Thanksgiving meal Saturday at the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i food distribution at the Kaua‘i Philippines Cultural Center.

People wanting to help the Toys for Tots can visit Jacee Pereira and Bill Souza at the tent at the Grove Farm Market before the Dec. 3 deadline (Capt. Rod Green said this is an early deadline, this year).

Did Karen Pereira and Karrie Pereira of the Wailua Meat Company help at the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank food distribution before setting up at the Grove Farm Market (this is their second week!) Saturday?

The Hawai‘i Children’s Theatre partial cast of Moana Jr. gave Kukui Grove lunchtime shoppers a preview of the production that opens Friday at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic shut everything down.

Karrie Pereira of the Wailua Meat Co. said the popular item at the Grove Farm Market is the bone marrow (they got two sizes!) and the hamburger. The Wailua Meat Co. (they were partnering with the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank at the food distribution at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center, too!) is one of the new vendors at the Puhi Park Saturday market along with the Toys for Tots (Salvation Army Advisory Board member Janice Bond says they can really use “Infants” and “Toddlers” items!) collection site that will be at the park until the Dec. 3 cutoff.
