HONOLULU — Police say they have made two arrests in connection with the disappearance of a 6-year-old Hawaii girl.
No other information was immediately available Wednesday in the case of Isabella Kalua, who was last seen Sept. 12 in the bedroom of the home of her adoptive parents.
Honolulu police tweeted that more information would be released during a Wednesday afternoon news conference. A police spokesperson declined to release more information before the news conference, referring a reporter to the department’s social media posts.
Sonny Kalua said he and Lehua Kalua adopted the girl in January. They live in Waimanalo, on the island of Oahu.
An attorney representing the Kaluas didn’t immediately respond to a message Wednesday seeking comment about the arrests.
Volunteers from across the island, along with city, state, federal and military agencies, searched for the girl.
