There were a lot of numbers swirling around the Kukui Grove Food Court before everyone settled on “21” — Happy Birthday, Diane Ebinger who spent her special day lunching with her family Friday, where Ronnie Matsumura and Ernie Domingo of the Kaua‘i Senior Softball league (Ernie said the new season starts in January, right after Christmas) had former Kaua‘i Chief Ale Lumosod (he had a special game ring for 15 years from a mainland tournament), and who was that gentlemen who rushed over when someone dropped his walking cane…low key aloha.

Congratulations to Taylor Shigemoto, Mel Chiba, Karen Shigemoto (that breakfast spread looked more like a buffet dinner!) who hosted the Hawai‘iUSA Federal Credit Union CEO Greg Young (how is he related to former Kapa‘a High Athletic Director Dwight Fujii?) and retired (sounds better than ‘former’) CEO Karl Yoneshige during a whirlwind “road trip” so Greg could meet some of the island’s “Shakers and Movers” like Mark Tanaka of Kaua‘i Realty, Randy Francisco and more.
And welcome back, Misha Lam (she’s related to Bev Pang!) who set up the Misha Hawai‘i (pearls, Misha said) pop-up that will be open until just 2 p.m. today.
