Wade Walter Poor
Wade Walter Poor originally from Hanalei, Kaua‘i passed away at the age of 43, on Oct. 22, 2021. He was born on June 20, 1978, in Lihu‘e, Kaua‘i and currently resided in Palmyra, Missouri with his wife and 4 children.
Growing up on the northshore of Kaua‘i, Wade attended Hanalei Elementary School and Kapa‘a High and Intermediate where he graduated with the class of ‘96. Wade’s love for the ocean started as a young child. Beginning at the age of 10 he paddled with the Hanalei Canoe Club and was a steersman. He also paddled kayaks and competed in the Junior Olympics. He was a Boat Captain for sightseeing and snorkeling tours down the NaPali Coast and always loved being on the ocean.
After high school, Wade’s love of being on the water called him to attend the Cal Maritime Academy in Vallejo, California where he graduated with the class of 2006. He continued his career as Captain for Dodge Island Hopper and Dredger.
Wade was preceded in death by his grandparents Walter and Delores Poor, William and Florence Brown, step-grandmother Mary Brown, and his Aunt Eileen Godfrey.
Wade is survived by his loving wife Tara, sons Walter, Joe, Oliver, daughter Emmelyn, his parents Randy and Barbara Poor, his sister Joya (Mike) Meeker, nephew Kekoa, niece Nalani, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Wade will be missed by so many whose lives he’s touched; including his Kaua‘i ohana and his mariner family. His legacy will certainly live on forever through his 4 beautiful children.
A paddle out in Hanalei Bay to celebrate Wade’s life will be announced at a later date.

Nancy Lou Cordie
With heavy hearts we share the passing of Nancy Lou Cordie, 64, of Kapa‘a, on Sept. 26, 2021, at Queens Hospital. She was born on Oct. 20, 1956, in St. Paul Minnesota.
Nancy spent many years skiing in the mountains of Aspen Colorado before calling Kaua‘i home in the late 80’s. Many know Nancy from the early 90’s when she opened her thrift store called Second Time Around. Nancy had a deep love for life and adventure. Her frequent smiles and laughter brightened the hearts of many.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father Melvin Cordie.
Nancy was survived by her partner Richard Nakamura, daughter Kaylie Nakamura (Tyler Rautmann), step-sons Shawn (Krystal) Nakamura, Thomas (Shanna) Nakamura, mother Delores Cordie, sister Joan (Mike) Eckert, sister Debra (Pete) Himes, brother Bob (Lisa) Cordie, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at the Lydgate Beach Park big pavilion at 10:30 a.m on Nov. 20, 2021.
Joddielynn Ku‘uipo Taylor
Joddielynn Ku‘uipo Taylor passed away at the age of 54. She was born on March 10, 1967, on O‘ahu.
Joddielynn was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Long and brother Robert Taylor, Jr.
Joddielynn is survived by her sons Nick Pedro of O‘ahu and Howard (Karyn) Pedro, Jr. of Kaua‘i, daughter Sasha (Brandon) Kanei of Kaua‘i, grandchildren Saychellenani, Saejalynn, Kiawe and Ka‘ikona Kanei-Pedro, Kairus, Nahinu, Max, Nekaia, Nekaila, Nyleiah, Hina and Makana Pedro, great-grandchild Mauka Kanei, father Robert Taylor, Sr., brother Brian (Nyomi) Taylor of Kaua‘i, sister Shannon Buckner of Kaua‘i, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held at a later date.

Jason Daniel Genegabuas
Jason Daniel Genegabuas, age 49, passed away on Oct. 22, 2021. He was born in Lihu‘e on Oct. 20, 1972. He was in the National Guard and a Parts Manager at NAPA auto parts.
Jason was preceded in death by his father Daniel S. Genegabuas and Janine Kinimaka.
Jason is survived by sons Jayson Genegabuas-Serion, Micah Couture-Serion, daughter Crystall Genegabuas-Tabura, mother Diane Genegabuas, brothers Harley Genegabuas, Keith Alejo, sister Gigi Genegabuas, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
