Marian C. Lizama
Marian C. Lizama passed away on Oct. 9, 2021, at the age of 84, in Lihu‘e. She was born on June 8, 1937, on Kaua‘i. She worked for the State of Hawai‘i, Department of Education.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Maurice (Buddy) Lizama, Sr., parents Reinold and Margaret Cremer, brothers Robert Cremer, Ronnie Cremer, sisters Lorraine Medeiros and Jeanette Tu.
Marian is survived by her daughters Rhonda K. Lizama of Kaua‘i, Mary (Greg) Sur of Honolulu, Elizabeth Hashitate of Kaua‘i, son Bud (Dori) Lizama of Kaua‘i, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-child, brothers Eddie Cremer of Kaua‘i, Eric Cremer of Kaua‘i, sisters Elizabeth Owen of Texas, Loretta Johnson of Texas, Bernadette Reynolds of Texas, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be at St. Catherines Church in Kapa‘a on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. followed by Mass. Casual attire and flowers are welcome. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing and face masks are required. Any correspondence may be directed to Rhonda Lizama.

Yvonne Leslie Caplener
Yvonne Leslie Caplener, 91, of Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i, passed away on Sept. 6, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. She was born in Kapa‘a, on Dec. 7, 1929 and was a retired nurse at the Wahiawa General Hospital on O‘ahu.
She is survived by her daughters Desire‘e Ann (Stephen) Watson of Wailuku, Maui, Jasie Paula Teves of Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i, Cecilia “Nalu” Nakaahiki of Moreno Valley, California, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Nov. 18, 2021, at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Kapa‘a.
Dodo Mortuary, Inc. is assisting the family with arrangements.
Josefina N. Bernabe
Josefina N. Bernabe passed away on Sept. 22, 2021, at the age of 81, in Oma‘o. She was born on March 19, 1940, in Misamis Oriental, Philippines. She was a customer greeter and cashier at Walmart.
Josefina was preceded in death by her parents Placido S. Nacua and Lourdes Abian Nacua, brothers Placido Abian Nacua, Huberto Nacua and sister Teresita Abian Nacua.
Josefina is survived by her husband Benjie D. Bernabe, son Gabriel “Jobe” Nacua Bernabe of Hanama‘ulu, daughter Manalani Bernabe of Wailua, brother Rodolfo Abian Nacua of Leyte, Phillipines, sisters Vergincita Nacua Asetre of General Santos City, Philippines, Socorro Nauca Divinagracia of New Jersey, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Service will be held at a later date.

You Shan Qiu
You Shan Qiu, 69, of Lihu‘e passed away on Oct. 8, 2021, at home. He was born in China on Aug. 10, 1952 and was prep cook at Garden Island Barbeque.
You Shan is survived by his wife Fei Fei Gao.
Cremation was on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021.
