Henry Brown Thronas
Henry Brown Thronas, 89, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2021. He was a lifelong rancher, equipment operator and manager of Smith’s Tree Trimming.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents Olaf Thorkil and Irene Maka Thronas, brothers Stanley Thronas, Olaf “Elia” Thronas, Fred and Jeannie Thronas, Sam and Mary Thronas, sisters Agnes Thronas, Irene Strong and Betty and Larry La Coe and son-in-law Richard Kahoonei.
Henry is survived by his wife Adrienne ‘Renee’ Thronas, four daughters Tamee (Richard) Thronas-Kahoonei, Shelby (Kalani) Dabin, Mandy (Ryan) Brown and Lainie (Greg) Wright, 9 grandchildren Tayler (Kai) Kanoho, Hartley (Ikaika) Fuerte, Kapana (Clare) Thronas-Kahoonei, Duncan Bellotti, Kana’i (Brianna) Kahoonei, Riley (Ciara) Dabin, Brian Bellotti, Agnes and Emily Brown, 5 great-grandchildren Haweo and Makoa Kanoho, Malachi and Carson Dabin and Piha Thronas-Kahoonei, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Aug. 13, 2021, at St. Catherine’s Church from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Services will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a burial at St. Catherine’s Cemetery immediately after the services.
Fumie Beppu
Fumie Beppu peacefully passed away at her residence while surrounded by her family and caregivers on July 31, 2021. She was born in Wahiawa, on May 17, 1922, and was 99 years old at the time of her passing. She was a retired secretary for Waimea High School.
Fumie was preceded in death by her parents Shigezo and Tamayo Nakao, brothers Shigeo Nakao and Yukio Nakao, sisters Kayo Nakao and Hideyo Nakao and son Myron Nakao.
Fumie is survived by her husband Harry T. Beppu, son Frank (Diane Chong) Nakao of Honolulu, daughter Reni (Steven) Pereira of Hanapepe, grandsons Stuart Pereira of Corvallis, Oregon, Marcus Pereira of Hanapepe, brother Yasuo Nakao of Pearl City, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
A private service will be held at a later date.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Velma Lin Nunes
Velma Lin Nunes passed away on July 23, 2021, at the age of 75. She was born in Honolulu, on Oct. 2, 1945.
Velma was preceded in death by grandparents James and Mary Kimokeo and her mother Hazel Kaohelaulii.
Velma is survived by son Sam Nunes, daughter Leihau (Paka) Nunes, sisters Ella Kimokeo, Sybil (Leo) Blackstad, Henrietta Kaohelaulii, brothers Llewelyn Kaohelaulii, Kalima Kaohelaulii, 2 granchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
The family has requested a private service.

Dylan Kalei Laureano Chandler
Dylan Kalei Laureano Chandler passed away on July 17, 2021, at the age of 28. He was born in Lihu‘e on Nov. 22, 1992. He was a fisherman.
Dylan is preceded in death by grandparents Laureano and Geraldine Dabin and grandfather Michael Valentine Chandler.
Dylan is survived by his mother Cheryl Kalei Dabin (Nik Makepa), father Leo V. Chandler, grandmother Merilee Chandler, brothers Cameron (Kyla) Chandler, Chance (Hi’ilani) Makepa, Cody (Miranda) Makepa, Shane Chandler and sister Shanna L. Chandler.
Services will be held at a later date.

Staci-Ann L. Kato
Staci-Ann L. Kato passed away on July 6, 2021, at the age of 55. She was born in Los Angeles, on Aug. 20, 1964. She served as a Material Recovery Commander in the Army National Guard.
Staci-Ann is preceded in death by her father Robert H. Kato.
Staci-Ann is survived by her mother Carolyn Kato, brother Douglas (Sunyi) Kato and sister Wendy (Tim) Kato-Kang.
Services will held at Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at 10 a.m. Followed by a burial at Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery, Hanapepe.

Tessie Puahoku Yolanda Ana
Tessie Puahoku Yolanda Ana of ‘Ele‘ele passed away on July 31, 2021, at the age of 35.
Tessie was preceded in death by her grandmother Yolanda M. Ana.
Tessie is survived by her arents Keith and Healani Ana, sisters Shayna Ana, Kanoe Ana, brother Keoni Ana, paternal grandfather George K. Ana Jr. and maternal grandparents Bernard and Cecilia Perreira.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
