Nancy ‘Tiny’ Faye Thain
Nancy “Tiny” Faye Thain passed away on Jan. 7, 2020. Tiny grew up in Waimea, and graduated from Punahou School in 1962.
Tiny is preceded in death by her husband, Ian “Scotty” Thain, her parents, Jean Burns Faye and Alan E. Faye, siblings, Bruce Faye and Sally Faye Muirhead.
Tiny is survived by her daughter Cindy Riedy, son Curtis Cooper, three grandchildren, Bailey Riedy, Katelyn Cooper and Jamison Cooper. Tiny is also survived by her brothers, Michael Faye, Alan E Faye Jr., sisters, Janet Lilly and Maren Faye.
In her early years, Tiny was active in the West Kaua‘i Saddle Club where she was known for competing in barrel racing events in local rodeos and helping many 4-H members with their horsemanship. She also swam competitively for the Waimea Swim Team and is still listed among the top swimmers from Kauai.
Tiny worked as a real-estate broker in California and Oregon before retiring and moving to Virginia to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Spending summers at Koke‘e inspired a lifelong love for hiking and in recent years Tiny traveled, checking off several bucket-list hikes, while also being active in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
Friends and family are welcome to share in a celebration of life gathering for Tiny on Saturday, July 31, between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Ishihara House, 9730 Oioi Rd., Waimea, Kaua‘i, 96796.
Francisco Badua Balisacan
Francisco Badua Balisacan, of ‘Ele‘ele, passed away on June 18, 2021, at the age of 98. He was born on Oct. 10, 1922, in Santa Rosa, Sarrat, Ilocos Norte of the Philippines. He retired as a Sugar Cane Juice Processor with McBryde Sugar Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nicasia Lahip Balisacan, brothers Mauricio Balisacan, Tomix Balisacan, sisters Florida Balisacan Ganotisi and Salome Balisacan.
Francisco is survived by his only son Villamor L. Balisacan, Sr. (Teresita Taroma), grandchildren Villamor T. Balisacan Jr. (Jennie), Julius T. Balisacan (Hazel), Lorelei T. Balisacan Ramos (Bruno), great-grandchildren Jacie Balisacan Ipac (Shaun), Gavin Miyazaki, Javin Balisacan (Jaecie), Gabrielle Balisacan, Brayden Balisacan Ramos, great-great-grandchildren J’sha Kawamura, J’zen Kawamura, Kingsley Balisacan, Teagan Perreira, sisters Felicidad Balisacan Calabucal, Fortunata Balisacan Dumayas, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be at Garden Island Mortuary on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Viewing and visitation with the family will begin at 9 a.m. with service to follow. The family suggest casual attire and welcomes flowers. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and face masks are required.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Rosita Ebreo
Rosita “Pat” Tabac Ebreo, 85, of Pa‘auilo, Hawai‘i, passed away on May 20, 2021, in Kailua Kona. She was born in Makawao, Maui, on Feb. 7, 1936. She was a retired Bank Teller for Bank of Hawai‘i, Hamakua Branch, member and treasurer for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and Pa‘auilo ILWU Pension Club and member of Pa‘auilo Senior Citizens Club.
She was preceded in death by husband Raymond “Butcha” Ebreo, daughter Pamela Ebreo, great-granddaughter Tianee Ebreo and great-grandson Joshua Ebreo.
She is survived by sons Michael (Debra) Ebreo of Honoka‘a, Hawai‘i, James (Paula) Ebreo of Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i, Raymond “Kalani” (Macaria Suguitan) Ebreo of Herriman, Utah, Brandon (Rachael) Bumanlug of Waimea, Hawai‘i, daughter, Raynette (Clifford) Akana of Kekaha, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, brother, Amador Tabac of Pa‘auhau, Hawai‘i, sisters Beatrice Tabac of Waimea, Hawai‘i, Marina (Nelson) Silva of Hanamau‘ulu, brothers-in-law Francis DeCosta of Waimea, Earl (Amy) Regidor of Kailua Kona, Hawai‘i, sisters-in-law Demetria Tabac of Honoka‘a, Hawai‘i, Sally Tabac of Honolulu, O‘ahu, Harriet Tabac of Pa‘auilo, Hawai‘i, Annie Kalahiki of Honolulu, O‘ahu, Ilima (Scott) Fujimoto of Honoka‘a, Hawai‘i, Stella Regidor of Honolulu, O‘ahu and Reba Regidor of Ka‘u, Hawai‘i, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 8 a.m., Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Honoka‘a, Hawai‘i with mass to follow. Due to COVID-19, church seating is limited and masks and social distancing is required.
Cremation Services of West Hawai‘i is assisting the family with arrangements.
