Eric Makakapuaokalani Arizo passed away on March 20, 2021, at the age of 65, in Waimea.
He was born on April 26, 1955, in Honolulu.
He was preceded in death by father Roman Arizo, mother Margaret N. Kaleo, brother Raynard Arizo, and sisters Faith Arizo and Noe Arizo.
He is survived by wife Patricia May Arizo, sons Kale (Tiare) Makua of Waimea, Kaina (Charis) Makua of Waimea and Kalani Makua of Waimea, daughters Kalae (Keoni) Makua Martins of Waimea, Kealae Precious Makua of Waimea and Valerie (Roddy) Saffery Samio of Anahola, grandchildren Titarella, Baba, Honeyboy, Aina Bina, Bubu, Tootsie, Imelda, Kolohe Jr., Romy, Peewee, Momi, Bruddah, Nohi Boy, Titi, Bulla, Haihai, Michael, Kanani, Buta, Sabu, Pomai, RJ, Jordan and Hanu, great-grandchild Alena Boomboom, brothers Roy Arizo of Waimea, Mark (Renee) Arizo of Palolo, O‘ahu, and Raymond Arizo of Utah, sister Ululani (Richard) Kaleo of Waimanalo, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A walk-thru visitation is at Garden Island Mortuary Sunday, May 30, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., with a celebration of life to follow.
The family suggests casual attire and welcomes flowers. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and masks are required.

Janet Keali‘ikaeamoku Kaohi Kahalekomo
Janet Keali‘ikaeamoku Kaohi Kahalekomo passed away on April 24, 2021, at the age of 83, in Lihu‘e. She was born on Sept. 6, 1937, in Waimea.
She was a kumu at ‘Ele‘ele School.
She was preceded in death by husband Abraham “Bull” Kahalekomo, parents Markham H. Kaohi and Katie K. Kaluna Kia Kaohi, brothers Lionel Kaohi and Francis Kaohi, sisters Katherine Bellinger and Lilly Kaikuoana, great-grandchildren Kaizley (Makamai) Kahelekomo-Schmidt, Graham and Gene Lawrence and Tammy L. Carlos.
She is survived by son Abraham (Lori Marugame) Kahalekomo of Puhi, daughters Penny (Clyde) Anakalea of Hanapepe and Nicolette P. (Ronald) Sahut, grandchildren Ronson, Katrina, Mahealani, Mele, Brandee, Chilise, Abe Ikaika, Alyssa, Kaulana, Kalena and Anuhea, 25 great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law Reb Bellinger of Honolulu and Jerome Teves of Honolulu, sisters-in-law Lydia Kaohi of ‘Ele‘ele and Elizabeth “Susie” Kaohi of Las Vegas, and by numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gilberto Serrato
Gilberto Serrato passed away on April 27, 2021, at the age of 72, in Kilauea.
He was born on Sept. 6, 1948, in Montebello, California.
He was an Army veteran and a pest-control technician.
He was preceded in death by parents Agustin and Mary Serrato.
He is survived by wife Jane Serrato of Kilauea, sons Alika Serrato, Jesse Serrato and Gabriel Serrato, all of Kilauea, grandchildren Triton Serrato, Deezal Serrato, Sariah Serrato, Makena Serrato and Kyley Maris, brothers Chino Serrato, Leonard Serrato, George Serrato, Raymond Serrato and Marco Serrato, sisters Armetha Serrato, Rozzanne Espinoza, Laticia Serrato and Trinny Serrato, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held at a later date.

Esther Kimiyo Kono

Esther Kimiyo Kono was born in ‘Aiea, O‘ahu, and passed away at age 97 on O‘ahu. She was a career nurse on Kaua‘i and O‘ahu, and was a loving and dedicated wife and mother, loved and missed by her family.
She was preceded in death by husband Masaichi Kono, parents Toyota and Asao Igarashi, sisters Marian O’Nory, Sally Kohatsu and Evelyn Blaylock, and brothers Larry Igarashi, Kenneth Igarashi, Richard Igarashi and Eddie Igarashi.
She is survived by son Dennis Kono, sister Betty Black, sister-in-law Elaine Igarashi, and several nieces and nephews.
Private services were held by the Rev. Shuji Komagata at the ‘Aiea Taiheiji Soto Mission.
