Francis ‘Big Lee’ Robert Marin Kalaninaiaupuni Lee
Francis “Big Lee” Robert Marin Kalaninaiaupuni Lee, 72, of Kekaha, passed away, surrounded by his family, on Jan. 8, 2021.
He was born in Honolulu on Aug. 5, 1948, son of the late Francis Lee and Dorthy Branco.
He is survived by wife Patti, son Francis, daughter
Chelsea, and grandson Kaya.
Francis wasn’t just a ray of sunshine; rather, he was the whole damn sun. He truly was the ultimate people magnet, as people were drawn to his contagious laugh and devilishly-charming smile.
He lived a full life, working in several industries, from general contracting to owning a Kawasaki dealership. But his longest job was working as a stay-at-home father, taking care of his family, where he ensured that the house was beyond perfect and cooked the best food that anyone has ever tasted. He volunteered at the Kaua‘i Museum with his wife, and was known as the “charming bartender” during events.
He will be deeply missed by his family and those who knew him. But his light, his laugh and his smile will be remembered and cherished always.
