Lori Almarza of the Kaua‘i United Way (have you caught the Wave of Compassion yet?) said the Pau Hana Market is really big because Ron Wiley was doing a live broadcast of the farmers’ market (they have value-added stuff, too!), where you had to hear Frank Cruz do his rendition of “Pretty Woman.”

Laurie Ho said it’s time to “eat the season” because Bunlai Farm had bargain prices on fresh, locally-grown asparagus that Amy Chun and Elvrine Chow quickly snatched up before the supply ran out.
Elvrine is excited to be back on the market scene because her “Pretty Woman” Taelor May was completing her colorful lei creation at Heavenly Haku (Hank Zevaat’s kadomatsu was a sold-out hit last week!). Elvrine says it’s Flowers by Taelor, and now she needs to talk with Stacie Chiba-Miguel (wow! The New Year’s kobu-maki and nishime were perfect to start the new year!) for more market opportunities.
Congratulations to Paeeda and Taworn Panyamee on the new signage that identifies the booth for the Kilauea farm (three types of banana — apple, Thai and cooking!). It’s a nice way to start the new year and add color to the parking lot.
The Beauty Boardroom is also getting some looks as Taryn Moura said there are still a few spots left for the Fun Facial Friday coming up Friday (how’s that for more than 24 hour’s notice?) from 5 to 7 p.m. at the space near the Keiki Korner play area (it’s still closed) near Deja Vu Surf Hawai‘i (yep, cover girls Kyla Koerte and Akemi Dizol were both working.)
