LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Motorcycle Coalition, including the Ali‘i’s of Hawai‘i, Koa Puna, Mana Souls, Sons of Hawai‘i, Sons of Kaua‘i, and Pacific Savages motorcycle clubs, will host the 2020 Keiki Toy Run this Sunday, Dec. 13, to and from the Historic County Building on Rice Street in Lihu‘e.
Starting at 9 a.m., new, unwrapped toys may be dropped off at the Historic County Building in the same manner the late Russell Haluapo would’ve done. This year’s contributions will benefit the Boys & Girls Club and its satellite clubhouses.
Starting at 10 a.m., the motorcycle convoy will depart the Historic County Building for a memorial ride dedicated to Haluapo.
The ride ends at the Lydgate Park with a rememberance of Haluapo and fellowship.
Haluapo, a staunch motorcycle enthusiast and community-service provider, passed away quietly on May 8. He annually hosted the Toys for Keiki run to collect toys for keiki who “fell through the cracks,” and contributed heavily to food drives geared to feed the less fortunate.
