HONOLULU — Ku‘ulei honors first respondors with new release
Stacie Ku‘ulei is keeping busy during the lockdown. Prominently featured during University of Hawai‘i sporting events singing the national anthem and “Hawai‘i Pono‘i,” she brings her talent a new video, “Rise Up.”
Ku‘ulei is an educator, and said she knows the experience of being an essential worker. With “Rise Up,” Ku‘ulei offers a song to honor essential workers and first responders, and calls on the community to rise up together during these tough times.
Born and raised on Kaua‘i, Ku‘ulei grew up in Pakala on the Westside, and attended Waimea Canyon Elementary School and Waimea High School.
Kaua‘i’s sunsets, the scent of the ocean and the red dirt that stains her feet molded her into the person she is today and the person she will always be, she said. Her roots on Kaua‘i were essential for her to grow into the woman she is today, she added.
