Thank you, Nannie Ann Apalla, for letting us know that Seth Womble (do you realize there’s a Seth Womble just around the corner at the Kaua‘i Beer Company?) and Trysen Kaneshige are working on a mural that will grace the wall of the M. Tanaka Store building on Kalena Street in Lihu‘e.
The project is a partnership with several groups, including the Kaua‘i Planning and Action Alliance, and they are looking for a host building in Kapa‘a where another mural can sprout. Any takers?
Kudos to the Retired Senior and Volunteer Program Advisory Council on finishing their collection for care packages for Kaua‘i’s frontline hospital workers. They’re packing right now (thank you, Kaua‘i for the contributions — they had so much, they had to pack everything at Wilma Chandler’s house), and should start delivering the goodies from today.
Kudos, too, to All Saints Episcopal Church Youth Minister Cami Pascua and Ke Akua youth group on hosting a satellite site for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life in Kapa‘a Saturday. Enrico Levi (his dad plays the piano at the church) did a great job providing music inside the church, and Mother Nature cooperated with a gorgeous sunset over the Sleeping Giant.
Time to go check out the newly-opened Kalapaki Joe’s at Kukui Grove Center. Need to go early to get outdoor seating (they’re still waiting on more furniture for the expanded lanai) for sampling the new menu items.
