LIHU‘E — Happy 10th year anniversary to Elizabeth and Tony Lim of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
“Today (Sept. 3) is their 10-year wedding anniversary,” said Robin Jumper of The Kaua‘i Marathon and Half Marathon. “They just finished their virtual half marathon, Wednesday. The Lim’s have competed in our race every year, except for in 2010 when they got married here on Kaua‘i.”
Running on a virtual course in Pennsylvania, the Lims finished the 13-mile Half Marathon run at 1 hour, 59 minutes, and 27 seconds.
Also running in the Virtual Half Marathon, Koloa runner Nicole Maxwell snuck into the ranks at No. 18 overall, tripping the clock at 4:18:28, a 19.44 pace.
Kaua‘i runners in the Virtual Kama‘aina Half Marathon swelled from a dozen to 17, ending with a noon cutoff, Thursday.
Olivia Lutkevich (2:11:37) was bumped from the lead spot by Kasey Ozaki of Lihu‘e who completed the Half Marathon on a 1:44:18 run, and Tommy Vidinha of Lihu‘e following at 1:57:41. Lutkevich is currently No. 4 in the category.
There is no change in the Virtual Marathon, and Sally Cravens is still the sole finisher logged into the Virtual Kama‘aina Marathon class.
Did the organizers profit from this? And did the county of Kauai use tax payers monies to fund this virtual event?
I guess we will never know because there’s no county of Kauai auditor.
Paper Chase for the love of money.
