Patrick, who serves on the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i Branch board, said he wanted to help at the CFS Festival of Hope for Kaua‘i Families, but said there were enough volunteers that particular day.

Stephanie Funtanilla (she said Fontanilla or Funtanilla is OK, either way because Frank’s mother is Fontanilla, and Frank’s dad is Funtanilla, and they weren’t related) said Nana’s House could really use the help because of the increase in the numbers of new families needing help during this pandemic.
During the drag-racing days (remember those Camaros?), it was always Fontanilla. Then, when Sara entered the world of swimming (coach Orlando “O” Anaya of Mokihana Aquatics — yes, they’re still closed for the pandemic — said the kolea is back!), it became Funtanilla.
Lois Andersson broke away from her distance learning at Kaua‘i Community College to come help Rhan Honjiyo of the Nawiliwili Yacht Club with the logistics of the Gene Wells Memorial Series Race No. 4, and still be an ambassador for Weatherly that had Carl Andersson at the helm of the teenaged crew.
Pre-race was a good time to congratulate Laurie Ho on being elected the president of the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau (are we having the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau Fair in 2021?) during the group’s virtual meeting.
