Kula the dog, belonging to artist Lucas Murilo, got excited with the spectators who stopped to watch the development of the mural being created by muralists Seth Womble (he said that Hanapepe pickup truck needs some serious Bondo work) and Sam Schryver. You need to see it for yourself to figure out the theme because, according to Alden Alayvilla, the project should be done by this afternoon.

Lucas and Trysen Kaneshige (Seth said they’re Nirmana-approved artists) were working on different lettering techniques while watching the two masters at work. Seth said the Pi‘ikoi Building project at the Lihu‘e Civic Center is part of Nirmana that he envisions as having a dozen murals being done around Lihu‘e during the course of a year.
Kudos to Orly Yadao (Orly’s Patisserie opens Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. next to the ‘Aina Juice Cafe in the Hokulei Village Shopping Center) on creating excitement among TGI staff when Veronica Lovesy (she’s with Uncle’s Shave Ice. Got your KFMN FM97 card yet?) dropped off a preview box of goodies. Sally Cravens (Happy birthday on your Tuesday celebration) kapu-ed the lilikoi creation, and Clay Carvalho was doing the Pillare Mukai (she ate the whole cake cup) thing with the pineapple.
OK, time to go check out what’s new at the Puhi Park Produce adjacent to Grove Farm headquarters. It opens from 10 a.m. Saturday until the farmers and fishermen run out of goods.
