Greg Askew was getting excited about Princeville Shopping Center resuming its night market Sunday, and Janice Bond was looking for more productive asparagus (Brian Fujiuchi — his destination vendor was absent — had some nice stories about green onions).
Terry Gordines was moving flowers pretty quickly, and ever notice how the cattle egrets (sometimes the mynah birds join in) have a built-in sense of social distancing?
Congratulations to the Claytor ‘ohana (Natalie and Daisy were manning the Farmhouse — check out the cool Spiderman chicken hat — and dad Donovan was getting ready for the Warehouse 3540 Second Saturday event) on the Give Kaua‘i Hope campaign that resulted in more than $50,000 being distributed to more than 200 small businesses. The funds were derived from online sales of T-shirts bearing the participating small-business logos, and Donovan said shirts were being mailed to all parts of the country, a lot being to visitors who opted to stay home during this COVID-19 medical issue, but wanting to support their favorite Kaua‘i businesses.
Kudos, too, on the opening of Hanako (they were closed, waiting for the start of the Saturday night market), the expansion of Navy Dylan, and the return of the Fresh Shave food truck (er, trailer). And what about Hawai‘i says HI and Clean Kaua‘i?
