LIHU‘E — Following the retirement of Scott Giarman, the Kaua‘i United Way is currently accepting applications and resumes for a new executive director for the nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization that is dedicated to serving the social needs of Kaua‘i since 1943.
“This organization is so vital to the social well being of the community,” said Beth Tokioka, the KUW Board President. “We are hoping to find an exceptional and dynamic leader to continue the great work of this organization during this critical and challenging time.”
The executive director has overall responsibility for all aspects of the Kaua‘i United Way operation, including managing the annual fundraising campaign, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and overseeing day-to-day administrative operations.
A full position description and instructions for applicants can be found at https://kauaiunitedway.org/new-ed-2020.
Completed applications must be received no later than July 13.
Kaua‘i United Way, through its annual fundraising campaign, supports dozens of social service agencies across the spectrum of needs on Kaua‘i. These partner agencies must apply for funds on an annual basis through a rigorous process led by the KUW Board of Directors. Those agencies who receive grants are monitored throughout the year.
“It is an extremely hands-on process to insure that a donor’s contribution will be used efficiently and directed to where it will do the most good for our entire community,” Tokioka said.
