Concepcion B. Makaneole
Concepcion B. Makaneole passed away at Garden Isle Healthcare on April 18, 2020. She was born in the Philippines on Dec. 7, 1926, and was raised most of her life on Kaua‘i. She retired working for Lappert’s Hawai‘i and the Foster Grandparent Program.
She was preceded in death by husband George D. Makaneole II, parents Vicente and Gregoria Bargayo, brothers Ceazar (Julie) Bargayo and Jesus (Sally) Bargayo, and sister Fedelina (Patricio) Gongbob.
She is survived by sister Cora (Ali Sr.) Balocan, brothers Tony (Lucy) Bargayo and Toi (Carmen) Bargayo, sons Marvin Bargayo, Glen (Laurie) Makaneole and George (Lorri) Makaneole III, daughters Gail (Cleve) Shigematsu, Gerlinda (Vincent) DeCosta and Naomi (Dennis) Cortez, 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is Saturday, July 4, at 9:45 a.m. at St. Raphael Church in Koloa. Face masks are required before entering the church.

Alfred Henry Kalani Ehiku‘Onalani ‘Yoshi’ Harada
Alfred Henry Kalani Ehiku‘Onalani “Yoshi” Harada, 77, of Wainiha, passed away at home on June 15, 2020. He was born in Lihu‘e on May 31, 1943, and retired from Princeville Golf Course as the superintendent. He was also a taro farmer.
He was preceded in death by wife Elizabeth “Nani” Harada and son Alfred Henry Harada.
He is survived by granddaughters Shana-Lee Boro-Harada and Sierra-Lynn (Pohaku) Stone, great-grandson Kalani Orozco-Harada, hanai daughter Duchess Boro, sister Lily “Mieko” (Afuk) Tai-Hook, brother Ray “Bull” Harada, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.

Aaron Gabriel Cummings
Aaron Gabriel Cummings, 63, of Lihu‘e, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2020. Known especially for his impeccable drumming styles, he was an accomplished musician and entertainer. He was also an avid waterman who was happiest whenever he could be in the ocean. In fact, his favorite attire was a T-shirt, surf shorts and slippers — he was always ready in case the surf was up. He was also a loving father, son, brother, cousin and “Papa” to his cherished grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter Ka‘iulani Cummings and father Abraham “Bra” Cummings.
He is survived by his sons Daron (Chandi) Cummings and Kaili (Mandi) Panui, mother Dolly (Bob) Gabriel Mandap, brothers Abraham (Carol) Cummings and Willie Cummings, sisters Rinda (Kappy) Aiu, Mamo (Max) Graham and Koki Cummings, grandsons Hazyn, Xaenon, Levi, Steel, Kaleb and Kholten, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunties and cousins.
The family wishes to extend its sincerest, heartfelt mahalo nui loa to cousin Donna Takiguchi and former wife and lifelong friend Cindy Rodrigues for their constant love and faithful care of him, and to his doctors, nurses and caregivers.
A private celebration of life Mass will be held.

Ludovico Corpus Bautista
Ludovico Corpus Bautista passed away on April 17, 2020, at Garden Isle Healthcare at the age of 90. He was born on Oct. 2, 1929 in Hilo. He was a laborer for Lihu‘e Plantation.
He was preceded in death by wife Violeta Bautista, brother Esmael Bautista, daughter Lilia Bautista, and grandsons, Fredelyn Bautista Sebastian and Ronald Cadelina Bautista.
He is survived by sons Jaime (Estrelita) Bautista of Kaua‘i, Erlindo (Christina) Bautista of Hilo, Loreto (Nancy) Bautista of Kona and Judie (Lorna) Bautista Sr. of Kaua‘i, daughters Erlinda (Mateo) Sebastian of Kaua‘i, Consolacion )Apolinario) Tadeo of Hilo and Corazon (Romulo) De Guzman of Las Vegas, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be at Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday July 11, at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery. The family suggests casual attire.

Michael Joseph Vidinha
Michael Joseph Vidinha, 80, of Pakala Camp, passed away at home on June 20, 2020. He was born in ‘Ele‘ele on March 27, 1940, and retired as a plumber from Gay & Robinson Sugar Company. He was a volunteer of Kaua‘i Alu Like Kupuna Program and a deacon of Waimea United Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Leonora Vidinha, son Mason Jon Vidinha, father John Vidinha Sr., mother Elizabeth Moniz-Sorge, and brother John Vidinha Jr.
He is survived by children Martin (Cindy) Vidinha, Perle “Pua” Kaholokula, Mark (Patti) Vidinha, Michael “Jimmy” Vidinha, 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sister Rose Dahle, brothers kahu Wayne (Phyllis) Vidinha, Harold (Wendy) Vidinha and Leslie “Chala” Vidinha, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, July 6, at Waimea United Church of Christ, with visitation from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with services to follow.

Lourdes Veronica Maglinti ‘Lori’ Alisna
Lourdes Veronica Maglinti “Lori” Alisna of Hanama‘ulu passed away on June 18, 2020, at the age of 84.
Born on Aug. 6, 1935 in Kapa‘a, she was a retired dining room manager for Kaua‘i Resort from its opening until its closing, for more than 40 years. She also worked for Wilcox Elementary School as a cafeteria assistant and babysat dozens of children in her retirement years.
She was preceded in death by father Juan Dela Cruz “Johnny” Maglinti Sr., mother Esidra Mangilit Maglint, sisters Sally Susan Maglinti, Violetta Maglinti, Mary Maglinti, Catherine Maglinti, Josephine Maglinti, Pacita (Alfredo) Castillo, Natividad Ligaya Saflor, Inocencia “Sencia” Hoyhoy and Gloria Santos, and brothers Gilberto Maglinti, Alexander Maglinti Sr., William Maglinti Sr., Johnny “Juan” (Alice Almeida) Maglinti Jr., Antonio “Sabu/Tony” (Rosario “Rose” Patigayon) Maglinti and George (Catherine Munar) Maglinti, son Wayne Alisna, and great-grandchild Jordaen Alisna.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 7, at St. Catherine Church in Kapa‘a, with viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. Mass will begin at 10 a.m. for immediate family only due to COVID-19 restrictions and church capacity. Family and friends may witness the burial at St. Catherine Church Cemetery in Kealia at 11 a.m.

Gustavo Alfredo Albuja Orellana Sr., 60, of Lihu‘e, passed away on June 19, 2020. He was born in Ecuador on Nov. 28, 1959. He owned and operated Gus Tile Marble & Granite Shop.
He is survived by wife Aminta E. Albuja, sons Gustavo (Juli) Albuja and Michael Albuja, daughter Jennifer (Oliver) Gray, parents Jorge and Teresa Albuja, siblings Doris (Dulio) Amaya, Jorge (Sandy) Albuja, Janet Albuja and Jose (Lorena) Albuja, grandson Leo Gustavo Gray, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Monday, July 6, with visitation at 9:30 a.m. and services at 10 a.m. Face masks are required.

Janet Lynne Sipila of Wainiha passed away on May 11, 2020, at home at the age of 62. Born on July 25, 1957, in New Jersey, she was a retired nurse
She was preceded in death by parents Robert and Lorraine Sipila and sister Karen Sipila.
She is survived by caregiver Russell Haitsuka, brother Robert Sipila, Gary Sipila, and numerous aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.
