Kudos to Pastor John Cabelo, Kaua‘i Police Deparatment Chief Todd Raybuck and all the ‘ohana at New Hope Lihu‘e and KPD for hosting the Police, Pastors &Platters drive-thru breakfast giveaway the past nine weeks at Puakea Golf Course in Lihu‘e (yes, Fran Roach was out distributing bully-free stickers, too).

Pastor John said New Hope Lihu‘e returns to in-person church at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center Sunday, but he’ll think about doing the drive-thru meal distribution at least once a month.
Marynel and Rommel Valenzuela had their Kaua‘i Fashion Week (they couldn’t host the red-carpet event this year, but did a virtual meeting because Sue Kanoho was missing the event) team helping along with Phil Worwa, who had his new (not enough time yet to apply the “Santa” ID) red Jeep pickup. Phil is getting excited about Robert Medeiros allowing them disc-golf play at Kukuiolono Golf Course and Park in Kalaheo from this Sunday, July 5 (they go trout fishing this weekend) following the same Father’s Day ‘ohana event.
Kudos to Brad Nakayama for getting out of the kitchen and bringing Hanalei Taro &Juice Co. back over the bridge. He made his first appearance at Puhi Park Produce Saturday (even county Managing Director Michael Dahilig was checking out the place), where Greg Askew of Ono Pops was excited about an Ono Pop fan donating the locally-produced treat to the Kuhio Medical Center staff under the Ono Pops’ 50% donation program.
We might have missed the health-care workers’ campaign at Coconuts Fish Cafe at Kaua‘i Village Shopping Center in Waipouli (have you checked out that ice cream place?), but Carol Wood said they have other specials to either dine-in or take-out daily.
OK, back to the pop-up market at The Shops at Kukui‘ula. What’s the Keawe Roots’ take-out special?
