OK, so East Kaua‘i Lions Club President Janice Bond (she also volunteers at The Salvation Army Lihu‘e Corps) said there are members who did not get to see the electronic issue of Saturday’s TGI (there’s no print edition on Saturdays). Hopefully, Lion Harvey Kinoshita (no, Harvey Maeda did the classic car drive-by at the Regency at Puakea) was able to save it to make hard copies for people like Ron Garlie and Paul Endo, who missed the meeting (and dinner)…roar!

Kudos to Terri Kaniho and her very creative Gather Federal Credit Union marketing team (they were helping with the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort &Beach Club food distribution, too) on getting past the face masks and social distancing in awarding the credit union’s annual scholarships.
Kudos, too, to Robert Medeiros and the Kukuiolono Park and Golf Course ‘ohana (Paco’s Tacos was slammed) on a great ‘Ohana Day for Father’s Day. Phil Worwa was thrilled with the turnout for the special disc golf (Wow, didn’t realize that Sandy Poenheldt of The Right Slice even has her own bag of specialty discs) round that featured some amazing holes like the last one where crosswinds couldn’t be buffered.
OK, time to go check out the Kukui Grove Center food court (does Bread &Deli Connection still do corn chowder on Wednesdays?) where people can now enjoy dine-in in the area that had been closed due to COVID-19.
