Well, it seems that the State of Hawaii has decided to extend the shutdown until the end of May.
So, guess what that means? More reading!
And with many of us being at home, there is always the option to explore your kitchen creativity, too!
How about two in the same?
“Good Food Gratitude: Easy to Prepare Vegan Home-Style Recipes + Beach Inspired Lifestyle Tips for the Whole Family” is a wonderfully refreshing cookbook written by Kauai resident Hollan Hawaii.
Now, don’t let the “vegan” part think this cookbook isn’t for you. This beautiful hardcover book is filled with wonderfully tasty recipes. Listen to these dishes: “World’s Best Banana Bread,” “You Will Fall For These Pumpkin Oat Pancakes,” “Da Best Potato Salad,” “Squeeze Me Please Hawaiian Lemonade,” “Creamy Dreamy Broccoli Soup,” “You’re Not Naughty Nachos,” “Mac &Cheese – Yes, Please,” “Salty Olive Tapenade,” “Sweet &Sour Lilikoi Cake,” “Easy Like Sunday Morning Cinnamon Rolls.” Hungry yet? We are!
Each of these excellent dishes (and so many more) are featured with tantalizing photos and easy-to-follow directions that also include interesting and helpful nutritional hints and other tips.
“Good Food Gratitude” is a beautiful book to look through. Not only is the photography excellent, the graphic design and layout is visually interesting, with each page conveying the warm colors and natural aesthetics of this tropical environment that we are fortunate to enjoy.
Back in March, Hollan came into the bookstore and introduced her book. It has been selling well in the Hawaii cookbook sections, and we look forward to be able to open our doors, hopefully soon, so you can come in and check out the book yourself. However, in the meantime, you can check it out on our website or from other online retailers.
Enjoy the good eating!
