Gwendolyn Marie Carveiro
Gwendolyn (Gwen) Carveiro, of Kalaheo, passed away at Garden Island Health Care on Feb. 27, 2020, at the age of 81. She worked for Wilcox Hospital and HOPACO and retired in 1993.
She is preceded in death by parents John V. Medeiros, Sr. and Mary Medeiros; husband Lawrence Carveiro; brother Leonard Medeiros.
Gwen is survived by daughters, Lawrie (Ron) Ellamar, Debby (Leroy) Gatioan, Lisa (Marvin) Fernandez; brother John V. (Shirley) Medeiros, Jr.; sisters, Carol (Tom) DePonte, Kathleen (George) Langtad; hanai sisters, Wilma Dela Cruz, Wanda (Bondie) Brooksher; grandchildren, Raven (Brian Shoop) Woods, Amanda (Troy) Suga, Micah (Teal Takayama) Fernandez, Skyler (Alissa Rapacon) Fernandez, Branden (Jessie Coney) Gatioan, Tanner (Kellie Joto) Fernandez; great-grand babies, Makani Fernandez and Tristan Suga; furbaby Lucy; many nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Anthony Nuivo
Anthony Nuivo, 86, of California, formerly of Kauai, passed away on Feb. 12, 2020. He was born in Lihue, on Feb. 15, 1933, and retired from Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
Preceded in death by his wife Ruby “Terry” Nuivo; parents Benito and Eugenia Nuivo; brothers, Francisco Nuivo, Marcario Nuivo, Paustino Nuivo; sister Natividad Nuivo Arato.
Anthony is survived by his daughter Mary (Hykeem) Jordan of California; son Anthony Lee “Tony” Nuivo of Lihue; two granddaughters, Victoria Fung of California, Scarlett Nuivo of Lihue; sister Soledad Nuivo Cui of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of his life has been postponed till further notice.
Alta Vista Cremation and Funeral Service of Suisun City, California and Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Thelma Yukiko Nagata
Thelma Yukiko Nagata passed away in Waimea, n March 10, 2020, at the age of 83. She was born on April 30, 1936. She was a cashier.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Nagata; brothers, Raymond Tsukayama, Shigeru Tsukayama.
She is survived by her sons, Aaron Nagata of Mililani, Ryan Nagata of Ewa Beach; daughter Avis Nanbu of Mililani; grandchildren, Daralynne (Micah) Reichman, Dayson Nanbu, Bryce Nagata Candyce Nagata; great-grandchild Arianna Reichman; brother Ronald Tsukayama of California; sisters, Ellen Yamaguchi (Harry) of Hawaii Kai, Fumie Yafuso (Morikichi) of Honolulu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at a later date. Omit flowers.
