Mayor Derek Kawakami announced Emergency Rule No. 3 even while gloves were being distributed to everyone (even if you were just going to be there for 30 seconds to pay) entering the Anahola Farmers Market (great effort by Aggi Marti-Kini and the Kalalea Farmers Association!), Saturday in the shadow of the Kalalea mountains.
Gordan Bonilla got to check out the market because there’s no Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation baseball or softball, and Christine Coyaso added mochi donuts to their offering of fresh coconuts to the effort that expanded from the market’s usual Sunday meeting, and lasersmith Tim Hand (you should see some of his laserwork) was closing his clothing shop in Kapa‘a due to COVID-19, and still helping with the Anahola market.
Kimo Perry of The Royal Order of Kamehameha sends mahalo to the community for its ho‘okupu offerings that were done throughout the day, Friday, and installed by The Royal Order, Saturday during a private (due to concerns over COVID-19) tribute, Saturday at the Prince Kuhio Park…”We’ll see you, next year,” Perry said, sharing a photo of the Prince with the community via email.
