This is also the weekend when the Friends of the Lihu‘e Public Library host the spring used book sale (hint — today is a better day to shop than Saturday), where there are a lot of goodies to select from. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the library conference room.
More excitement takes place on the Westside when the Westside Business &Professional Association hosts the Heritage of Aloha Ho‘olaule‘a in the shadow of the former Waimea Sugar Mill at the Waimea Town Celebration (don’t forget to check out the hat-lei contest taking place at the West Kaua‘i Visitor Center), with a host of activities including the Captain Cook Caper run that opens up Saturday bright and early.
And for those who want the North Shore experience, Kaua‘i Police Department Chief Todd Raybuck hosts his Coffee with a Cop in Kilauea (Ron Wood is figuring out how to squeeze in the senior softball and represent Crime Stoppers) at Anaina Hou Community Park Saturday, where the Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce will host its next Business After Hours function Thursday to say “aloha” to Dickie Chang and Bruce Smalling of “Wala‘au.”
