LIHUE The Elections Division of the Office of the County Clerk will begin offering candidate-nomination and filing services beginning on Monday, Feb. 3.
LIHU‘E — The Elections Division of the Office of the County Clerk will begin offering candidate-nomination and filing services beginning on Monday, Feb. 3.
The candidate-filing period runs from Feb. 3 through June 2, and services are offered Monday through Friday during the regular office hours of 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
For the 2020 elections, the Elections Division will be offering nomination and filing services for the following offices:
• U.S. Representative, District 2 (neighbor islands);
• State Senate, District 8 (Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau);
• State Representative, Districts 14 – 16 (Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau);
• Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Kaua‘i resident trustee and at-large resident trustee;
• Councilmember;
• Prosecuting Attorney.
Prior to beginning the candidate-nomination and filing process, prospective candidates are encouraged to visit the state Office of Elections’ webpage at hawaii.gov.elections to review information on the process.
Official election information will only be disseminated directly through the Elections Division of Office of the County Clerk, the state Office of Elections, or via the county public information officer.
Election officials cannot assure the accuracy of election information obtained through alternate means, so the public is urged to contact the Elections Division directly if they have any questions on material viewed on social media or related sources.

Once again, it is election time. Who is it going to be this time? Will the voters go with the same old bunch? Let me point out them. Ron Kouchi, Arthur Brun, Mason Chock, Bernard P. Carvalho jr, Ross Kagawa, all similar in background to that superstar. Who was it? Kobe Bryant. Way after my time in high school. Not relevant. Never heard of him. Will the voters still pick candidates with that sort of background? I don’t know.
