Kudos to Mary Lardizabal and the Kapaa Middle School Choir Boosters on coordinating another successful Aloha Keiki Fest Saturday that served as a fundraising effort for the KMS Choir and Ukulele Bands participation at the Heritage Music Festival in Anaheim, Calif., this spring.

Candace Boxer of Ono Pops (Chinese New Year is coming up, Jan. 25!) had a visitor, Lisa Pascucci of California, in tow to experience the local event showcasing the keiki talent from Kauai’s elementary and middle schools (Kay Mones and the Get Fit Crew had those fancy light-up shoes!), and state bowling girls champion Dana Murata joined her mom, Collyne, as one of the craft vendors along with Sumiko’s (the Amulacion ‘ohana!) who brought along their waffle dogs to go along with the kettle popcorn.
Kudos also to Art Umezu, Robert “Mick” Mikkola, Halley Baran, Nelson Batalion and the Kauai Beach Resort ‘ohana for coordinating and presenting a reception welcoming Japan Defense Minister Taro Kono and his entourage that included Consul General Koichi Ito on Kono’s official business trip!
