Michael Ralph Ben
Michael Ralph Ben, 70, of Hilo, died Jan. 5, 2020, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center.
Born June 9, 1949, in Waipahu, Oahu, he was a retired director for the County of Hawaii Department of Human Resources.
He is survived by wife Betty Ben of Hilo, brothers Gerald (Renee Fukumoto-Ben) Ben of Kailua-Kona and Robert (Cynthia) Ben of Oahu, sister Cheryl (Charles Brady) Ben-Brady of Kauai, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo, with memorial services at 5 p.m.
The family suggests casual attire.

Oscar F. Agpalza
Oscar Agpalza passed away on Dec. 3, 2019, at Wilcox Medical Center at the age of 68.
He was born on June 4, 1951 in the Philippines. He was a utility worker for the Lihue Airport restaurant.
He is survived by wife Natividad “Nati” Agpalza of Lihue, daughters Geraldine (Dennis) Campos of Eleele, Eunice (Joel) Tambio of the Philippines, Yedah (Albert) Villanueva of the Philippines and Gedidah (Reynald) Sagsagat of the Phillppines, four grandchildren, brothers Florendo (Cresencia) Agpalza of the Philippines, Rogelio (Matilde) Agpalza of Honolulu, Joel (Lorna) Agpalza of Honolulu, sisters Nancy Asuncion of the Philippines, Delelah Holmedad of Norway and Estrella (Swerre) Sandberg of Norway, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are on Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Lihue Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, with visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. and celebration of life at 3 p.m.
The family suggests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Isabel ‘Mama Sabel’ Iloreta Yago
Isabel “Mama Sabel” Iloreta Yago passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020 at the age of 97.
Born on July 5, 1922, in Ilocos Sur, Sinait, Philippines, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband Enrique Yago.
She is survived by daughters Eufrecina “Cina” (Ben) Valencia and Fely (Eddie) Ibanez, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Immaculate Conception Church in Lihue, with visitation at 8:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Lihue Cemetery.

Rita D. Wong
Rita D. Wong passed away on Dec. 16, 2019, at Wilcox Medical Center, at the age of 73. She was born on Oct. 22, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and U.S. Army.
She was preceded in death by parents Elmer and Christine Funkhauser and sister Ellen Rosser.
She is survived by husband Zenon K. Wong, brother Richard Funkhauser, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services were held.
