POIPU — Nothing to do on New Year’s Eve? There will be fireworks and a family movie at Poipu Beach Park. This annual event is free and open to the public.
“We are proud to support this New Year’s Eve celebration in Poipu. Head to Poipu Beach Park with your lawn chairs and beach blankets to ring in the new year,” said Caroline Anderson, spokesperson with the Hawaii Tourism Authority.
The fun starts at 5 p.m. with some food trucks, followed by the showing of “Abominable” at 6:30 p.m. on the large outdoor screen. The fireworks are set to go off about 8:15 p.m.
The New Year’s Eve celebration is a long-standing tradition hosted by the Poipu Beach Foundation in partnership with the HTA and the County of Kauai. Parking is limited.
