HANALEI — For the seventh year, the Hanalei Bay Resort hosted its annual Junior Tennis Tournament, Saturday with more than 20 young tennis players aged between 7 and 17 years old participating.
“The keiki and parents look forward to this event every year, and I am pleased to be a part of this for them,” said Mary Hannsz, the Peter Burwash International tennis director at the Hanalei Bay Resort. “The North Shore’s weather surprisingly cleared up for our annual event following the Thursday and Friday storm.”
Stella Fornari and Silvio Fornari took first and second places, respectively in the 10 and Under division.
Rain Hannsz and Alyssa Lyons tied for first place in the Girls Intermediate Division with Chloe Hannsz taking second place.
Ryder Kenton edged out Jowen Barker for first place in the Boys Intermediate Division with Lucas Weston-Webb bettering Anne O’Neill for top honors in the Advanced Division of the tennis tournament.
