LIHUE — Baseball players ages 6 through 13 are invited to register for the Kauai Youth and Prospect ID Camp that will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Vidinha Stadium.
The High School/Junior College showcase will follow from noon to 3 p.m.
Registration is $50 and can be done at bit.ly/36FTWU8. Siblings and teams of 10 or more discounts are available on request. The fee includes a T-shirt.
“The event is a great opportunity for our youth players and coaches to join our staff along with our high school and JC athletes to get exposure and have an opportunity to potentially join our program in the future just like Kauai High School alumnus and third baseman Micah Layosa,” said Dallas Correa, HPU baseball coach. “I’m looking forward to coming back home to Kauai and continuing to help in making Kauai Baseball better.”
Correa, a Kauai native, graduated from St. Louis High School in Honolulu after being named a two-time All-ILH catcher and a two-time ILH Champion. He was also named an Under Armour Pre-Season All-American before graduating in 2011.
Following his collegiate career, Correa returned to Hawaii where he became the fifth head baseball coach at HPU in August 2018. Previous to the selection, Correa served as an assistant coach for three years where he was the recruiting coordinator for the baseball program.
