Coral camp set for kids

Winter Break Coral Reef Kids Camp, a program for good swimmers ages 8 to 13, begins Thursday, Dec. 26.

The three-day, environmental-education program combines snorkeling, arts and games to provide young explorers with exciting and meaningful experiences in the natural world.

“Reef Camp will make a special holiday gift for children who love snorkeling and discovering the wonders of the ocean at our shores,” said Director Robin Mazor of Reef Guardians Hawaii, the nonprofit organization operating the program.

The day camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 26, 27 and 30, at Anini, Poipu and Kapaa beaches.

Snorkel gear will be provided. Register at www.reefguardians.org or the Reef Guardians Hawaii facebook page. Scholarships and fee waivers are available.
