People are being asked to donate blood this week to help patients in need and raise Kauai’s ranking in the 2019 “Tough Enough Island Donation Challenge.”
Currently, Kauai is running second to the Big Island, followed by Maui and Oahu, with 74% of actual procedures when compared to the donation goal per island.

Blood drives on Kauai:
• 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today, Kauai Community College fine arts building;
• 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall, Lihue;
• 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., Wednesday, Kapaa High School library.
One in seven people entering the hospital in Hawaii will need blood, but only a small fraction — about 2% — actually give it.
