Congratulations to Kapaa High School junior Dana Murata (shes No. 1!) and Zylan Pa-Conant on medalling at the Billy Tees Hawaii High School Athletic Association bowling tournament at Kauai Bowl at Rice Shopping Center in Lihue Thursday and Friday. Kudos to Kelii Morgado and Marissa Purcel for keeping all the loose ends under control, and Chris Ang, Keith Burgess and Kevin Cadiente had to juggle their schedules at school and at Kauai Bowl.
Congratulations to Kapaa High School junior Dana Murata (she’s No. 1!) and Zylan Pa-Conant on medalling at the Billy Tees Hawaii High School Athletic Association bowling tournament at Kauai Bowl at Rice Shopping Center in Lihue Thursday and Friday. Kudos to Keli‘i Morgado and Marissa Purcel for keeping all the loose ends under control, and Chris Ang, Keith Burgess and Kevin Cadiente had to juggle their schedules at school and at Kauai Bowl.
More kudos to coaches Clarence Sales and John Quinones for pulling together the Veterans Weekend Shootout, a basketball tournament for seventh-grade-and-under boys, and eighth-grade-and-under girls being contested at the Wilcox Gymnasium at Island School in Puhi. Action continues through the tournament championship Monday afternoon.
OK, time to head over to Hanapepe. They have that big Hanapepe Pop Warner and baseball carnival going on, and it’s time to check out the Lihue Raiders (the Mitey Mites are pretty close to clinching the trip to the Pop Warner regionals in California, and the PeeWees are heading to a Las Vegas tournament).
Don’t forget to take time out for the veterans. The traditional Veterans Day service starts at 11 a.m., Monday at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe, and then there is the afternoon shindig that starts at 1 p.m. at the Kauai Veterans Center, offering something for everybody.
Stay safe!
