LIHUE — Celebrate Recovery for both men and women is now happening every Monday night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in the youth room at Calvary Chapel Lihue, across the street from McDonald’s.
According to Albert Wong, who heads up the program for men, “Celebrate Recovery is unique, because it offers recovery not just for drug and alcohol addiction, but also for eating disorders, pornography addiction, and pretty much any habit you might want to stop.”
“It’s all based on the unconditional love of Jesus Christ,” Wong said in a letter to TGI.
It’s nondenominational and free. Everyone is welcome.
The women’s Celebrate Recovery program meets at the same time and place as the men, but the women have a separate room for their sharing time. Wong said Celebrate Recovery is also great for anyone who wants to learn how to respond in healthy ways to people we love who maybe struggling with harmful behavior.”
“The 12 steps originally came from the Bible,” Wong said, “and the God of the Bible will always forgive and help anyone who calls on him. Celebrate Recovery is a safe, confidential place to develop close friendships and find support and encouragement.”
