The Tres Amigos David Johnens, Ramon Martinez and Johnny Mitsis had no problem filling their event card Saturday while they welcomed the day in the cool (it helped with the morning rains, too) outside the Lihue Neighborhood Center, where The Memory Keepers (the county Agency on Elderly Affairs team in the Alzheimers Walk benefiting the Alzheimers Association) were hosting their annual rummage sale with Donna Olivas Kaohi (she couldnt join Jim Jung and Grace Delos Reyes at the Kukui Grove Center childrens story hour), Johnny Yago (he was out of his active living gear), Rose Manago and Patricia Gonsalves.

Shannon Hiramoto (she said they had a blast demonstrating her father’s printing press at last week’s Kauai Folk Festival!) couldn’t find any mu‘u mu‘u at the annual Lihue Christian Church bazaar (it was over in less than 30 minutes, said April Shigemoto) where the Rev. (Pastor?) Phyllis Meighen was catching her breath (she was wearing one of those knitted beanies) with Rebecca Estes.
And, within walking distance, Jocelyn Barriga and her Special Olympics Kauai ohana were worrying about how to finish the bowling tournament before having to take the field at the Kauai Soccer Association fall season games…Dawn Cummings was worrying not only about the funds coming in from the Punalu‘u Sweet Bread sale, but also about those chickens wanting to sample the fresh bread that had curbside pickup service from the Special Olympics athletes who were between matches at the tournament…we need that energy at a Kauai Habitat For Humanity build, Leona Sa McDermott! Mahalo to Bayada, Hawaii Gas and the Kauai Lions Club for all the assistance!
