Tony Giarla and Tina Albao coordinated a great volleyball clinic Saturday on Kalapaki Beach. The event was for Boys &Girls Club people, but Lea Nuesca said there were a lot of other people. Jim Braman was thrilled when the B&G Club picked up about two dozen new members after learning about the program during the clinic.

Kudos to Derek Kessler and the Duke’s ohana for providing lunch (they supported the Kauai Junior Golf Association with year-end awards and lunch, too).
Hats off to all those Kauai Community Market vendors (Marissa Tanji found some new succulents, and Hannah Huang was sold out of her award-winning beets!) who are rebounding from the Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair, where Domini Mellott of Secret Harvest Hawaii found not only tumeric, but the new shopping bags that are available for a donation. Kenny Ishii was there among the action, and Mayette Loseto brought over some calamanci (yep, it’s full-on right now) to go along with the calamanci curd being offered by Monkeypod Jam (they’ve got coffee, too, Sandi Kato-Klutke!).
OK, it’s the first day of the fall semester at the Kauai Community College, so it’s time to check out what’s on tap at the cafeteria…
