HONOLULU — Honolulu police have arrested a teenager in connection with the death of a woman who died from injuries suffered when her purse was snatched.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Monday that police arrested a 16-year-old boy Saturday on suspicion of manslaughter in the death of 85-year-old Dolores Corpus.
Police did not identify the teenager.
Authorities say John Corpus and his wife were walking near their Oahu home July 21 when a bicyclist snatched her purse and fled.
John Corpus told police he did not see the theft as his wife walked ahead of him, but found her lying in the crosswalk.
Her purse containing $2,000 in cash was missing.
Dolores Corpus was taken to a hospital where she died four days later due to bleeding in the brain.
