LIHUE — A hundred holes of golf in a single day.
Registration for golfers attempting the feat during the “99+1 Holes” is currently being accepted by the Kauai Junior Golf Association as a fundraiser.
The 100 holes of golf will be played July 28 at the Makai Woods Course in Princeville with a goal of having 18 to 20 golfers completing play with all proceeds benefiting the KJGA.
Participating golfers are required to raise a minimum of $500 in donations.
Lunch will be provided.
No alcoholic beverages will be allowed on the course. Special Happy Hour prices on alcoholic beverages will be available to golfers following play.
Fran Roach, vice president of the Kauai Junior Golf Association, said the junior golf program relies heavily on support from the local community toward its mission of providing opportunities that will teach responsibility, develop qualities of leadership and integrity and assist toward becoming productive members of the adult community.
KJGA also provides instruction clinics and rules of golf sessions, offering golf at a minimal cost while encouraging good sportsmanship and friendship with other junior golfers. It also provides opportunities for travel and participation in off-island tournaments, and scholarships are available for higher educational pursuits to qualified junior golfers.
