HANAMA‘ULU – County officials are seeking vendors to provide services for the Adolescent Treatment and Healing Center. The center is scheduled to be completed later this month.
“It is truly a blessing for our children to be healed and treated close to their family and loved,” said Mayor Derek S. K. Kawakami. “I encourage vendors to take advantage of this tremendous opportunity to assist our keiki.”
Located on a 5.8-acre parcel donated by Grove Farm, the center will consist of an integrated treatment and healing center with the capacity to provide a comprehensive, collaborative, community-based, clinically-sound, and family-centered infrastructure for delivery of mental health and substance-abuse related supportive services to adolescents and their families.
The center will include an eight-bedroom residential structure that may be expanded; with additional open space for recreational and agricultural healing activities; and a building dedicated for community and/or professional treatment support services with an attached classroom/training module.
Proposals shall be received no later than June 7, electronically via the Public Purchase System. Applicants interested in accessing and responding to Request for Proposal (RFP) P-0211, assigned by the Division of Purchasing, must be registered as a Public Vendor, Hawai‘i Region, and Kaua‘i County Agency. New vendors should click on the link to Public Purchase on www.kauai.gov or www.publicpurchase.com to initiate the registration process.
Additionally, deadline for written inquiries is May 31, response for written inquires is June 4, proposal due date is June 7, best and final offer is June 14, and the tentative award date for vendors is July 2019.
The County of Kaua‘i plans to contract the operations of the center to an experienced service provider via a Request for Proposal. Additionally, the Hawai‘i State Department of Education will provide a part-time teacher.
How much did this multi million dollar cost the taxpayers?
What a waste and a con job. The halfway house in the Isenberg area was scrapped because those receiving funding would lose their funding if the facility was built. So the county of Kauai made sure their friends and family didn’t lose money.
8 beds for probably 10 or more drug addicts in every grade above 5th on kauai at every school. Truth be told this is much needed but shoot, aim, load is the backwards kind stuff that these so called talented county employees with give me raises every year are performing.
Great J O B plantation mentality at its highest level of complete FAIL.
I’m agreeing with HowMuchCost. Waste of money. A drug treatment facility… IN Hanamaulu (laughing hysterically at this point)…. Good luck with this. I see some juicy news coming out of this place in the future.
Can you please email me the address of this treatment center for children please @ LEWISCBURNS.LB@GMAIL.COM
