Jonathan Ibanez
Jonathan Ibanez passed away on March 14, 2019 at Straub Medical Center, at the age of 34.
Jonathan is survived by his wife Lea May Ibanez; daughter Ysabelle Ibanez of Kapaa; his parents, Villamor and Visitacion Ibanez of Kapaa; siblings, Cathleen (David) Barton of Kapaa, Joanna Ibanez of Kapaa; nieces, Daileen Barton of Kapaa, along with many aunties, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William Sr. and Caridad Butulayan, paternal grandparents, Fruto and Pacitia Ibanez.
Jonathan was born on Nov. 9, 1984, in Lihue to Villamor and Visitacion Ibanez. He graduated from Kapaa High School in 2002 and Kauai Community College in 2017 with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism. He married Lea May in 2015. Jonathan worked for the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas.
Jonathan’s funeral is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2019, at All Saints Episcopal Church in Kapaa from 9 a.m. with a reception to follow at Kealia Farms. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jonathan’s Life.

Hope Grace Kumie Simao
Hope Grace Kumie Simao, 10, of Kalaheo, passed away at her home in Kalaheo, Kauai on Feb. 22, 2019. She was born on March 17, 2008 in Punahou, Oahu.
She is preceded in death by her great grandparents, Manuel (Kumie) Simao, Mary Duque, Thomas Tokioka and Gilbert (Dorothy) Barretto
She is survived by her father Jonathan Barretto; mother Darrellyne (Jason Keahi) Caldeira, Jr.; brothers, Micah Barretto of Kapaa, Noah Simao of Kalaheo; sister, Jordan Simao of Kalaheo; grandparents, Darrel (Diana) Simao, Donna (John) Takiguchi, Patrick (Jenniffer) Barretto; great-grandparent, Grace Tokioka; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Family suggests casual attire.

Eugene Henriques
Eugene Henriques, 91, Kapaa, passed away on March 31, 2019. Born on March 15, 1928 in Hawaii, he was a retired teacher and athletic director and served in the U.S. Army.
He is preceded in death by wife Helen R Henriques, Children/ James Henriques & Eugene Henriques Jr.
He is survived by sons, Manuel S Henriques (Samantha) of Kapaa, William G Henriques of Kapaa; daughters, Cheryl A Kirby (James) of Minnesota, Mary L. Henriques of Kapaa, Ann Henriques of Kapaa; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Lawrence Henriques (Maxine) of Washington, and David Henriques (Emily) of California.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at St Catherine’s Church in Kapaa from 9:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Family suggests aloha attire. There will be a burial to follow at St. Catherine’s church cemetery.
